INSTALL
- Open the DMG file.
- Drag "Local Shorts Studio Commercial.app" to "Applications".
- Open the app from Applications.
IF MACOS SAYS THE APP IS FROM AN UNIDENTIFIED DEVELOPER
- Try to open the app once.
- Open System Settings > Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to the security message for Local Shorts Studio Commercial.
- Click "Open Anyway".
- Open the app again and confirm.
FIRST RUN
- Open the Setup tab.
- Click "Run Full Setup".
- Wait until the setup is fully finished. Do not close the app during setup.
- When setup finishes, check these statuses:
- FFmpeg: Installed
- Python + Whisper: Installed
- Project Folder Access (TCC): Access granted
- Main App Installation: Running from /Applications
PROJECT FOLDER ACCESS (TCC)
- In Setup, click "Check/Grant Project Folder Access".
- Choose your real project folder when macOS asks.
- Grant access.
- Make sure Setup shows:
"Access granted | Project folder access is available"
IMPORTANT
- Always wait for the full setup to finish before using the app.
- If setup is interrupted, open Setup and run it again.

1. What this app is for
Shorts Clipper Studio helps you turn long-form video into short, captioned clips.
Main goals:
- Import local videos or YouTube links
- Transcribe and segment content
- Select/highlight meaningful parts automatically
- Edit clip timing and captions
- Export shorts in chosen aspect ratio
- Optionally upload finished clips to YouTube
The app is designed as an end-to-end local pipeline (FFmpeg + Whisper locally), with optional AI text helpers for metadata and titles.

4. Setup tab (required foundation)
Use Run Full Setup on first launch.

5. Projects tab (project source and configuration)
This is where each production project is created and loaded.
5.1 Input Source block
Fields and controls:

Behavior:
- If SRT is attached, transcription may be skipped and that SRT is used.
- Local and YouTube source modes are both supported.
5.2 Create or Edit Project block

Saved project persistence
For each project, the app saves and restores:
- Local Video path
- YouTube URL
- Optional attached SRT path
- Project Name
- Project Folder
- Output Folder
- Project Preset
So when you reopen a project, fields are repopulated automatically.

6. Queue tab (pipeline monitoring and recovery)
Queue shows what is running and what failed/completed.

- Background box and opacity
- Caption width and position

Also includes render/language context controls such as aspect ratio and transcription settings.
Preset operations:
- Save new preset
- Update selected preset

9. RawCaptions tab (marker/timeline editing)
For advanced clipping from raw captions/timestamps.
Main blocks:
- Source Video + SRT loading
- SRT Content editor
- Preview with optional caption display
- Timeline Markers table
- Export mode (shorts by markers or full)
Capabilities:
- Apply SRT to timeline
- Add markers manually
- Set selected start/end from preview time
- Save adjusted marker ranges

10. Extract tab (Extract Captions & Audio)
This tab is for standalone extraction tasks.

14. Troubleshooting quick guide
A) “No FFmpeg with subtitles filter found”
- Open
Setup - Run
Reinstall Full - Confirm FFmpeg status is installed and caption-capable
B) YouTube download fails (yt-dlp errors)
- Re-run setup
- Retry from Projects tab
- Check URL validity and network
C) Caption burn result looks wrong
- Verify selected preset in Exports/RawCaptions
- Save caption edits before burn
- Rerender after preset change
D) Pick buttons do not respond
- Retry after app restart
- Confirm app has folder/file access permissions
- Use Setup -> folder access check
E) Upload says success but appears on wrong channel
- Re-check OAuth credentials in Settings
- Ensure token belongs to target channel account
15. Best practices
- Create one project per content source/topic.
- Keep project and output folders organized before generating clips.
- Save presets with clear names (format + style + position).
- Review clips in Exports before publishing.
- Keep logs for failed jobs to accelerate support.

- You are responsible for usage rights of source videos/audio.
- For YouTube uploads, follow YouTube Terms and copyright policies.
